Stat Line Of The Night — 4/8/12 — Carmelo Anthony

carmelo anthonyNow that Jeremy Lin has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, Carmelo Anthony can stop worrying about the critics analyzing his chemistry with the rookie guard and start worrying about helping the New York Knicks win some games.  He was doing just that during yesterday’s Easter Sunday match-up with the Eastern Conference leading Chicago Bulls.

Melo would take less than a third of his team’s shots on the day, but he would record nearly half of the Knicks’ points.  Six of those points came in a rather timely fashion, as he drained a long three-pointer at the end of regulation to tie the game, before hitting another at the end of the first overtime to give the Knicks the 100-99 victory.

Anthony finished the game with 43 points, seven rebounds and three assists.  That performance helped the Knicks move one game clear of the ninth-place Milwaukee Bucks, and it earned Melo “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, April 8, 2012.
