Detroit Red Wings Fans Put On A Light Show Prior To Game Three (Video)
Those who got to Joe Louis Arena early for the pregame festivities prior to Sunday’s playoff home opener against the Nashville Predators may have thought that they had accidentally stumbled into a rave, as red glow sticks lit up the entire building.
Fans in attendance were given the red glow sticks upon arrival, and it made for quite the pregame scene, as a light show appeared to be taking place in the seats, while memories of the Red Wings’ past playoff success were replayed on the ice and scoreboard screens. Unfortunately, the Wings’ performance during Sunday’s game won’t be added to those memories of success, as they fell to the Preds by a score of 3-2.
While the Wings’ fans may be putting on a show in the stands, it has been Predators’ goalie Pekka Rinne who has been putting on the show on the ice. In addition to stopping 41 of the 43 shots he faced during his Game 3 victory, Rinne has now made 90 saves throughout the first three games of this series and is a big reason why the Predators have a 2-1 series lead.
If the Wings want to get themselves back in this series, they are going to have to start putting on some shows of their own on the ice. In the meantime, here is a look at the show that was taking place in the stands at Joe Louis Arena prior to Game 3.
