Braden Holtby Doesn’t Flinch (Video)
In a game as tight as last night’s thrilling Game Seven battle between the Washington Capitals and the Boston Bruins, sometimes all it takes is the blink of an eye for one’s Stanley Cup hopes to be snatched from under their nose. Despite having only six games of playoff experience (all in 2012), Braden Holtby appeared to be well aware of the dangers of flinching at the wrong time, so he made it a point not to flinch at any moment. Not even while being threatened by a Rich Peverley two-hander across the arm.
In the end, it was Tim Thomas and the Bruins who would blink first, as the Caps’ Joel Ward buried a rebound 2:57 into overtime to give Washington the Game Seven victory and send them into the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Here is a look at Holtby displaying his Kobe Bryant-like composure.
