NE Revolution’s Kevin Alston Loses His Lunch On The Pitch (Video)
When New England Revolution head coach Jay Heaps inserted right back Kevin Alston into his starting line-up for Wednesday’s MLS match-up against the Colorado Rapids, he expected the 23-year-old to leave it all on the field, figuratively, not literally.
However, Alston would leave it all on the field in a literal sense, after he was overcome with illness in the 41st minute and spewed chunks from his dinner hours earlier all over the grass at Gillette Stadium. According to Heaps, Alston was playing through a temperature of 102°, and after taking a hit from an opposing player, he went into a coughing fit before projectile vomiting onto the field. As you’d probably expect, he was substituted from the game following the incident.
