Cool Closeup Video of Kings Celebrating Stanley Cup Victory (Video)
The way we watch hockey at home certainly has changed over the years.
Back in the day, there would be one or two cameras, and if you didn’t catch the action with those, nobody saw it. Then they started to have 4 and 5 cameras—over center ice, at the penalty box, by the goal light, in the actual goal—and that allowed us to see more of the game than ever before.
But now? At any game there are somewhere around 15,000 cameras that can catch any moment of the game from any angle. I am talking, of course, about cell phone cameras. And I have to admit that, while I thought they were really stupid when they first started becoming standard cell phone features about 10 years ago, I really appreciate them today. There’s no way a network can have it’s TV cameras in the right place at the right time, every time, but thanks to smart phones and YouTube, we can now be a part of the action like never before.
Case in point: this awesome cell phone video of the Los Angeles Kings celebrating their Stanley Cup victory on Monday night. This lucky fan happened to be in the right place at the right moment, and because he had his cell phone with him, we all get to experience what it would have been like to be there in the middle of it.
I don’t know about the “we did it, baby!” part (I think “they did it” would have made more sense), but I’ll give the guy a pass. If I were that close to the celebration, I’d probably forget I’m just a fan too.
