Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis Read Lineups and Throw Out First Pitch at Cubs Game (Videos)
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis star together in a new movie called “The Campaign” that opens August 10. According to IMDb, it’s about two political rivals with big ambitions who “tangle with each other.”
Sounds fun. And since this is an election year and the movie is about a political campaign, the decision to turn the publicity tour into a faux whistle-stop campaign tour was a no-brainer.
The tour kicked off in Los Angeles Tuesday before heading to St. Louis. Then, yesterday, they shot down to Dallas before heading back up to Chicago, where Ferrell and Galifianakis visited Wrigley field to read the lineups over the PA and throw out the ceremonial first pitch(es).
Now, if you recall, this winter Will Ferrell did the player introcutions at a Bull-Hornets game in New Orleans. So there was a precedent he and Galifianakis had to live up to…which they did. Check it out:
Who knew Alfonso Soriano was Scottish?
As for the first pitch, I think it might be the first time in baseball history that the guy doing the honors had to take a break to eat some deep dish pizza. See for yourself:
Fun times. Hopefully the movie will be this good. Here’s the trailer, in case you’re interested:
