Talented Fan Serenades Kobe Bryant at Olympic Basketball Tune-Up (Video)
In preparatin for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, the USA men’s basketball team has embarked on a four-city exhibition tour that kicked off with a week of practice in Las Vegas, followed by the team’s first exhibition game against the Dominican Republic at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Arena on July 12.
Now, the game itself was uneventful, as USA trounced the DR 113-59. However, it turns out that there was a rather unique and talented Kobe Bryant fan in attendance, and her entertaining cheering style was caught on camera and uploaded to YouTube.
At the top righthand corner of the following video, you’ll see a woman with yellow-orange hair wearing a black Kobe t-shirt. Her name is Sharon Smith, and she’s got a great set of pipes. Just listen to her serenade the Black Mamba, making her whole section laugh:
It sounds like she’s already got a decent gig, singing at the House of Blues every other Sunday. But who knows, maybe Sharon can use this clip to get on The Voice or something.
In any case, it’s funny how Kobe Bryant’s fans serenade him with beautiful gospel singing, while Kevin Durant’s fans are busy throwing shoes at him. Needless to say, that hardly seems fair.
