CFL Player Delivers The Block Of The Year (Video)
The CFL may not be quite as popular as the NFL or college football (understatement of the year?), but it’s still a lot better than the other goofy football leagues in North America, like the Arena Football League or the United Football League—if you can even call that four-team association a “league.”
After all, there’s history in the CFL, with some teams going as far back as 1910. And the league regularly provides excellent highlights.
Case in point: this epic hit you’re about to see. It comes from last night’s game between the Montreal Alouettes and the Hamilton Tiger Cats at Montreal’s Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.
In the third quarter, Hamilton quarterback Henry Burris threw a pass that got picked off by Montreal’s Jerald Brown, and as Brown started running the ball back, teammate Kyries Hebert flattened Hamilton’s Onrea Jones with a devastating block.
Have a look:
That’s as brutal a hit as you’re going to see anywhere. I bet Jones didn’t even know his own name when he got up after that hit.
In any case, this is the second incredible CFL highlight involving a Tiger Cat this season. You may recall that, back in July, we brought you a clip of punt returner Chris Williams showboating while returning a failed field goal attempt, only to get tackled on the 1 yard line.
Keep’em coming Ti-Cats!
