US Open Ball Boy Takes A Spill (Video)

us open ball boy fall

Being a ball boy seems like such an easy job. Run across the court.  Pick up the ball.  Run to the other side.  Repeat another 200 times.

How hard could it be, right?

Well that seemingly simple sequence of tasks hasn’t stopped it from being one of the most eventful occupations in sports.  After all, we’ve seen ball boys, and girls, do just about everything, from peeing themselves, to removing cockroaches from the court.  And every now and then they may make an incredible catch as well.

As for the latest entertaining moment in ball boy history, it took place during last night’s US Open second-round match between Roger Federer and Bjorn Phau at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Check it out:

Phau would go on to lose in straight sets to Federer (6-2, 6-3, 6-2), but I think we all know who the real loser of this match was.
