Ricky Rubio Plays Connect Four With Basketballs On Spanish Talk Show (Video)
Ricky Rubio may not be the best Spanish basketball player—yet. I’d say that honor still belongs to Pau Gasol. But Ricky is still one of the most-hyped, and therefore, one of the most famous basketball players that Spain has produced in recent memory.
Of course, the Timberwolves guard missed half of the shortened 2012 NBA season after tearing his ACL back in March, but fans still have big hopes for him. So while he’s back home in Spain rehabbing in preparation for his scheduled return to action this December, Rubio has been hitting up some of the local talk shows. And recently, that included one particularly fun stop at the show “El Hormiguero,” which is Spanish for “The Anthill.”
What was so fun about it? Well, Rubio and host Pablo Motos played a riveting game of Connect Four…with basketballs.
Luckily, the 21-year-old potential superstar’s knee had healed well enough to shoot some not-so-jumpy jump shots, otherwise things could have gotten quite embarrassing. As it was, Ricky went 5-for-5 and won the game rather easily.

Note to self: Build a basketball Connect Four game in the backyard. It sure beats playing horseshoes.
