Stat Line Of The Night — 9/16/12 — Reggie Bush

After struggling through injuries during his first five years in the league with New Orleans, most people had dismissed the possibility of Reggie Bush being an every-down back in the NFL.  But the 2006 second-overall draft pick is healthy and he’s proving his doubters wrong, as he currently sits in second in the NFL in rushing yards after two weeks following yesterday’s monstrous performance against the Raiders.

Bush was a workhorse for the Dolphins, carrying the ball 26 times during the game. And he would make the most of those touches, racking up 172 yards and two touchdowns during his team’s 35-13 victory.  Bush also caught three balls for 25 yards, but most of his damage came on two third quarter runs, as he broke free for touchdowns of 23 and 65 yards to give the Dolphins a lead that they would not surrender.

With 241 rushing yards on the season, this 27-year-old is proving that he still has what it takes to be a featured back in the NFL, and a damn good one at that, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, September 16, 2012.
