Chelsea’s Oscar Scores Brilliant Golazo Against Juventus In UCL (Video & GIF)
When Chelsea forked over upwards of £20-million to Brazilian soccer club Internacional in return for the services of attacking midfielder Oscar during the summer, they were hoping the 21-year-old’s acquisition would pay dividends. Heck, they even draped him in the No. 11 jersey that was previously worn by recently departed Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba.
Well, following Oscar’s performance during Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League Group Stage match-up against Juventus earlier today, it may be fair to say that the Brazilian has paid immediate dividends, , as he scored two goals two minutes apart during his first start to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead 33 minutes into the match. And if that wasn’t already enough, his second strike may also go down as one of the finest from this year’s UCL competition.
Check it out, first in GIF form:
Now here’s a look at the video:
Pretty impressive, isn’t it? Unfortunately, Oscar’s two strikes weren’t enough, as Juventus battled back to escape Stamford Bridge with a 2-2 draw against the defending UCL champions.
You can bet that Chelsea fans won’t be happy about their team’s inability to hold onto a two-goal lead at home, but if they can take anything positive from this game, then it will certainly be the performance of Oscar.
