Stat Line Of The Night — 9/23/12 — Jamaal Charles
After watching Jamaal Charles carry the ball just six times for a total of three yards before leaving the game with an injury during a week two contest against the Buffalo Bills, many fantasy football owners may have passed on the Chiefs’ running back in favor of other options in week three. And those who did couldn’t have been more disappointed.
Charles showed the same type of burst that characterized the speedy back prior to his ACL injury during week two of last season, as he torched the Saints’ defense to the tune of 233 yards on 33 carries and a touchdown. He also added six receptions for 55 yards, spearheading the Chiefs’ impressive 27-24 come-from-behind victory in overtime.
Charles has always been know for his ability to “break the big one,” as rushes of 91 and 40 yards. Those runs would give him an average of 7.1 per carry, and they helped him earn “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, September 23, 2012.
