Story Time! Jose Mourinho Talks About Mario Balotelli On CNN (Video)
You know how you can tell Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is a larger than life character? Because even when other important figures from the world of sports are being interviewed, his name always seems to come up.
Take Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, for example. The guy currently coaches one of the two or three most valuable and historic soccer teams in the world—a team loaded with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Özil and Iker Casillas—and yet, when he gets interviewed by CNN International, the guy asking the questions manages to steer the convo toward Mario.
How? By asking Mourinho who “the most problematic player” he’s ever coached is. To his credit, Mourinho won’t immediately take the bait. In fact, he tries to shrug off the subtle reference to Balotelli. But then the interviewer just comes out and says it—what about Mario? So Mourinho obliges and talks about coaching Mario at Inter.
It’s pretty amusing, too. Check it out:
Actually, now that I think about it, Mourinho was probably glad the interviewer was talking about Mario, and not his current team’s superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
