You’ve Gotta See This Awesome TD By USC Football Recruit Steven Mitchell (Video)

steven mitchell hurdle touchdown high school football star

In Mission Hills, California, there’s a prep football player by the name of Steven Mitchell, and, um, he’s pretty good. This year the All-American is a senior at Alemany High School, but next year he’ll be a freshman at USC.

So what makes him so good? Well, he’s not particularly tall or anything. The guy stands just 5’10” and weighs in at a mere 180 pounds.

However, what Mitchell lacks in size, he makes up for in athleticism. And if you want an example, just look at the following play from Alemany’s opening game of the season back on August 24. After making a catch at the 45-yard line, he darts outside and heads toward the endzone. Then, when a 6-foot tall defensive back gets in his way, Mitchell simply leaps over him like an Olympic hurdler.

You know, whatever. No big deal.

Take a look:

So, yeah, I’d say this kid has got some talent. Of course, he’s not lacking in confidence, either.

When asked about the play by MaxPreps, he said, “People tell me it looked like something Reggie Bush did back in the day. I think it looked like something Steven Mitchell did back in the day.”

Cocky much?
