The Raptors Drained Not One, But Two Circus Shots Last Night Against The Bucks (Videos)
With a 250-to-1 shot at winning the 2012-13 NBA Championship (according to Bet365.com) the Toronto Raptors’ odds of hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the end of the season appear to be awfully slim. In fact, they are currently being considered the second-most unlikely team to win the NBA Championship, with only the Charlotte Bobcats offering higher odds (500-to-1).
But six games into the pre-season, things certainly appear to be going the Raptors’ way, as they are 5-1 and at times it seems as though they simply can’t miss.
Take last night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, for example.
First, it was John Lucas III who watched his circus shot from three-point range go in just before the buzzer at the end of the first quarter.
And then there was this crazy floater from Kyle Lowry, which nearly left the earth’s atmosphere before dropping through the hoop. It was very Felix Baumgartner-esque. Unfortunately, it didn’t count, as the officials ruled that the foul had occurred before the shot.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t watch it in awe. Check it out:
If the shots keep falling like they have been for the Raptors, who knows? Perhaps they could end up making some lucky individuals a few bucks richer when the NBA Playoffs wrap-up in June 2013…
…On second thought, I wouldn’t bet on it.
