Stat Line Of The Night — 10/28/12 — Tom Brady
Following consecutive poor performances against the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets, the New England Patriots traveled to London, England, with questions regarding their underachievement following them not far behind. However, it doesn’t appear as though they’ll have to deal with those same questions heading into their bye week, thanks in large part to the play of Tom Brady and their offense during yesterday’s overseas battle against the St. Louis Rams.
After spotting the Rams the opening seven points, the Pats’ offense responded by scoring the game’s final 45 points. A majority of those points came via Tom Brady touchdown passes, as the three-time Super Bowl champion completed 23 of his 35 pass attempts for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those touchdown passes landed in the hands of Rob Gronkowski, while Brandon Lloyd was on the receiving end of the other two. And that was more than enough offense for the Patriots, as they cruised to the 45-7 victory in Jolly Ol’ England.
With the win, New England enters their bye week with a 5-3 record, which is good enough for top spot in the AFC East. As for Brady, he now leads the league in passing yards (2,408), and he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, October 28, 2012.
