Halloween Fail: Fog Machine Turns On During Pistons-Rockets Game (Video)
Halloween and sports have always made a great combination. Fans get to express their loyalties and frustrations through their pumpkin carvings, teams get to spice up their halftime entertainment a little bit, and of course players get a little extra publicity by tweeting pictures of their costumes. It’s all a lot of fun.
Of course, sometimes things do go wrong. For example, every year it seems some idiot white guy thinks it would be totally fine to dress up in blackface. (Hint: it’s not okay.)
Or, you know, sometimes the fog machine you were going to use to create a spooky atmosphere for your Halloween halftime show goes on the fritz and delays the game. You can ask the Detroit Pistons about that, because it happened to them last night.
With just 58 seconds left on the clock in the second quarter of their season opener against the Houston Rockets, the game was delayed because a smoke machine suddenly started sending billowy wisps of fog onto the court.

This turned out to be a bad omen for the home team. They lost to James Harden and the new-look Rockets, 105-96.
