Stat Line Of The Night — 11/6/12 — Joakim Noah
With Derrick Rose still recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained during last year’s opening-round playoff series, the big question surrounding the Chicago Bulls coming into the 2012-13 NBA season is who will step up in D Rose’s place until he returns? Some have pointed to Joakim Noah as a solid candidate to lead the Rose-less Bulls, and the 2007
first-overall draft pick was doing just that against the Orlando Magic last night.
The Magic entered the game with a perfect 2-0 record, but the Bulls were able to hand them their first loss thanks in large part to Noah’s dominance in the paint, as the 6’11” center notched 20 points to go along with nine rebounds, five blocks and four assists. The Bulls were also an impressive +11 with Noah on the court, making him a key factor during their 99-93 victory.
With the win, the Bulls move to 3-1 on the season. If they hope to continue their winning ways without Rose int he line-up, they’ll need more performances like this from Noah, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
