Stat Line Of The Night — 11/8/12 — Andrew Luck
When the Indianapolis Colts drafted Andrew Luck with their first-overall draft pick this past off-season, many figured that the 2012 NFL season would be one filled with plenty of struggles and losses for the rookie quarterback and his team. But, lo and behold, the Colts entered last night’s game with a surprising 5-3 record, and they continued their winning ways with a road victory over Jacksonville Jaguars.
Leading the way for the Colts once again was their rookie quarterback, as Luck recorded his team’s first two touchdowns via rushes of five and one yards, and he added another 227 yards through the air during Indy’s 27-10 victory.
While Luck’s quarterback rating may not be all that impressive (79.1), his 2,631 passing yards currently rank him first in the NFL (albeit, with an extra game played), and he has scored an impressive 10 touchdowns through the air and another five on the ground through the Colts’ first nine games of the season. As a result, he has his team sitting comfortably in a Wild Card spot in the AFC, and following last night’s performance, he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, November 8, 2012.
