Warriors’ Andris Biedrins Attempts The Worst Free Throw Ever (Videos)
If you ask basketball fans who the worst free throw shooter in the NBA is at the moment, many of them will probably tell you that it is Dwight Howard of the Los Angeles Lakers–he’s currently converting on 50.6% of his free throws this season.
But if you ask a hardcore basketball junkie who the NBA’s worst free throw shooter is right now, they will almost certainly tell you it is Andris Biedrins of the Golden State Warriors.
Biedrins has made just two of his six free throw attempts this season, however, it isn’t his 33.3% conversion rate that makes him an easy choice as the league’s worst shooter from the charity stripe (although, in Biedrins’ case, it is hardly charitable). Rather, it is the manner in which he misses his attempts that sets him apart from nearly every other NBA player at the moment.
How bad is Biedrins from the line, you ask?
This clip from Friday’s game against the Lakers should help answer that question:
Embarrassing, isn’t it?
But rather than getting on Biedrins’ case and booing him for his poor free throw shooting, the Warriors fans got behind their 7-foot center the following night, giving him a standing ovation as he went a perfect 2-for-2 from the line.
Check it out:
Those were Biedrins’ first and second made free throws this season, and judging by that form, they could very well be his second-last and last as well.
