Stat Line Of The Night — 11/11/12 — Adrian Peterson

Not only is Adrian Peterson back, but he may actually be better than ever.

Peterson’s largest rushing output for a single season came back in 2008, when he racked up 1,760 yards on the ground.  Ten games into the 2012 season–and less than a year removed from major knee surgery–the Vikings running back is on pace to surpass that total thanks to yesterday’s performance, which saw him record 171 rushing yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.  But even more impressive than Peterson’s stat line for the game was his stat line for the fourth quarter, as he exploded for 120 yards and a TD on 11 carries during the final 15 minutes of the game to help Minnesota seal the 34-24 victory over the Detroit Lions.

In addition to leading the NFL in rushing yards with 1,128, Peterson is also on pace for a career-high 1,805 rushing yards this season.  More performances like yesterday’s should get him there, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, November 11, 2012.
