Hope Solo Involved In Altercation That Landed Fiance Jerramy Stevens in Jail

US goalkeeper Hope Solo certainly likes to create drama.

She created a big controversy during the 2007 Women’s World Cup by criticizing USA Coach Greg Ryan’s decision to start Briana Scurry instead of herself in the semifinals against Brazil, tearing her teammate to shreds in the process. Then, Solo created controversy yet again at the 2012 Summer Olympics when she ripped into TV commentator and former US international Brandi Chastaine for being too critical of the team.

But now, it seems, Solo is bringing the drama off the field and into her personal life.

On Monday, in Kirkland, Washington, police were called to a “disturbance” at a home at around 3:45 in the morning. According to the police, there was some kind of physical altercation between eight people at a party. Other than that, the details are pretty fuzzy.

However, what we know for sure is that one of those eight people was Hope Solo, 31, and another one was her fiance, former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens, 33.

We also know for sure that Stevens was taken into custody on suspicion of assaulting Solo, and that it was Solo’s 34-year-old brother, Marcus, who called the cops.

However, when they arrived, Solo was hysterically pleading with police not to arrest Stevens, and one report even says she yelled at her brother, “Don’t tell them anything!”

Nevertheless, police found Stevens hiding in an upstairs bedroom between the bed and the wall (where he claims he had been sleeping). He had blood on his shirt, and Solo reportedly had a cut on her elbow. So that was enough to bring him in. And once in custody, he admitted that the two had been arguing about where they were going to live after they got married on Tuesday.

Oh, didn’t I mention that? Yeah, the wedding was scheduled for Tuesday, though they’d only been dating for two months.

Anyway, Stevens had to appear in court, but no charges were filed, and Solo was in attendance, ostensibly supporting him.

But wait, there’s more! Remember how I said the “physical altercation” involved eight people? Well apparently two of those men were unknown to Solo, her brother, or her fiance. And the brother, Marcus, used a stun gun on one of them.

How all this factors into the dispute between Solo and Stevens I have no idea. But it sure sounds like they were having a wild party.
