Stat Line Of The Night — 11/18/12 — Matt Schaub
If you have Matt Schaub on your fantasy football team and you started him, congratulations! It was a bold move that surely paid off with a victory, as the Texans’ quarterback lit up the stat sheet and the scoreboard by completing 43 of his 55 pass attempts for 527 yards and five touchdowns during Houston’s 43-37 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With numbers like that, you’d think Schaub would be an easy pick for “Stat Line of the Night” honors, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Heck, he barely had the most impressive stat line from his own game on Sunday, as his teammate, wide receiver Andre Johnson, went off for 273 yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions, while Jags rookie wideout Justin Blackmon nearly equaled that total with 236 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions in a losing effort.
But in the end, it was Schaub whose 527 passing yards were the second largest total in a single game in NFL history, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, November 18, 2012.
