Knicks’ Rasheed Wallace Gets Ejected for Yelling “Ball Don’t Lie” at the Ref (Video)
Last night, Rasheed Wallace of the elderly New York Knicks got ejected from their game against the Phoenix Suns after earning his second technical foul of the night. And while on paper that doesn’t really seem all that noteworthy, there are a few aspects of this particular case that make it kind of funny.
For starters, Wallace’s got his second technical for screaming “BALL DON’T LIE!” at Phoenix’s Goran Dragić after he missed a free throw, which is kind of funny. But what makes this even better is the fact that the free throw Dragić missed was the one he earned from Wallace’s first technical foul, which came just moments earlier when Rasheed gave Luis Scola an unnecessary whack well after the whistle had blown.
However, the funniest thing about this whole situation is the fact that the announcers basically predicted that Wallace was going to get himself kicked out of the game for shooting his mouth off…and seconds later, he did just that.
Check it out:
You can’t blame Wallace, though. The guy is, what, 46 years old? The Knicks probably wanted to give him the night off but were afraid David Stern would fine them $250,000 if they sat him intentionally.
(Okay, fine, Wallace is 38. But you get the idea: he’s old for a basketball player.)
