Giants’ Sean Locklear Suffers Nasty Leg Injury (GIF)
The game wasn’t the only thing that the New York Giants lost last night in Washington. They also lost their starting right tackle for the remainder of the season.
While blocking for Ahmad Bradshaw during a fourth quarter rushing attempt, Sean Locklear’s right leg got caught under a Redskins player who was trying to make a tackle, causing the offensive lineman’s knee to bend in a direction that most knees aren’t supposed to bend.
Locklear remained on the field for several minutes before eventually being carted away. Following the game, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin classified the injury as nothing more than a knee injury, although his demeanor (and the footage of the incident) suggested that it could be a serious one. And that was confirmed today when it was announced that Locklear has suffered a serious knee sprain, although, if that is all that he suffered, he should consider himself lucky. After all, if the following image tells us anything, it’s that this injury could have been a heck of a lot worse.
