Bulls Announcer Stacey King “Likes His Meatballs Spicy” (Video)
Chicago Bulls color analyst Stacey King won three straight NBA Championships with the Bulls from 1991 to 1993. So it’s likely that Bulls fans would always have remembered him fondly. However, in recent years he’s endeared himself even more with his extremely enthusiastic work behind the mic.
You see, the guy comes up with a catch phrase for each Bulls player. Then, when somebody does something awesome, he busts it out…loudly.
For example, when talking about former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, King says, “Too big, too strong, too fast, too good.” Or when former Bull Kyle Korver would hit a three-pointer, King would say, “Give me the hot sauce, Kyle.” Or when former Bull Ronnie Brewer did something great, he’d say, “Chicago’s Finest Brew.” And of course, when Brian Scalabrine, a.k.a. “The White Mamba,” would do something as simple as come off the bench and sub into the game, King would introduce him as “The Man, the Myth, the Legend.”
So when the Bulls won a nail biter last night against the Pistons thanks to an exciting bucket by first-year Bull Marco Belinelli, what classic catch phrase did Stacey King pull out of his hat?
Well, see for yourself:
That’s right. He likes his meatballs spicey…and his ethnic slurs salty.
