In the NFL, the winning team’s player of the game gets the so-called “game ball.” But what about the NBA? What do you get if, say, you sink a brilliant game-winning shot?

Well, if you’re a member of the Toronto Raptors, you get a big wet smooch from your coach.

Last night the Raptors were in Orlando taking on the Magic. With the game tied 95-95 with only 4.3 second left in the 4th quarter, Alan Anderson inbounded the ball to Jose Calderon, Calderon dished it to DeMar DeRozan, and DeRozan hit a brilliant fadeaway buzzer-beater to win the game.

Check it out:

Talk about clutch, right? That fantastic shot capped another great night for DeRozan, who finished with a game-high 22 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 block. He has really helped the Raptors turn things around after a putrid start, as they now sit at 16-27, only 4½ games back of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with half a season to go.

So you know who was really excited about DeRozan’s buzzer-beater? The guy whose job DeRozan might be saving, Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. After the game, he walked up to DeMar and gave him a loving kiss on the side of the head.

How sweet.
