Paul George Put Together His Own Highlight Reel Against the Bulls Last Night (Videos)
Back in the fall of 2010, when baseball outfielder Carl Crawford was looking for a new team and a major payday, his agent sent prospective teams iPads with Crawford’s highlights on them. The point was to show them something the numbers alone couldn’t tell them.
It was a pretty clever idea if you ask me. And if the Indiana Pacers’ Paul George ever wants to do something like that, he can start with the two highlight reel plays he made against the Chicago Bulls last night in Indianapolis. The 22-year-old out of Fresno State has averaged 17.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this season, so it’s not like the numbers don’t show promise. It’s just that watching what the kid can do with your own eyes gives you a better idea.
What were these remarkable plays we speak of? Well, we’ll go out of order and first take a look at his killer reverse alley-oop from the 3rd quarter:
Now we’ll go back to the first quarter and have a look at his no-look between-the-legs bounce pass on a 2-on-2 break:
It takes a pretty special pass to make fans get up out of their seats, and George provided a pretty good example of just that.
Anyway, George finished the game with 21 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and a game-high 11 rebounds. Oh, and the Pacers won 111-101. But the numbers alone definitely don’t tell the whole story. They rarely do.
