Did Duke Fans Taunt NC State’s Tyler Lewis About His Dead Grandmother? (Video)
Duke basketball coach Mike Kryzewski is one of the classiest guys in sports. Unfortunately, that has (allegedly) not rubbed off on a handful of Duke students.
On Thursday night, Duke hosted N.C. State at the Cameron Indoor Stadium, beating them 98-85. However, after the game the Wolfpack weren’t as upset about the loss as they were by what they heard—or thought they heard—coming out of the Duke student section.
You see, N.C. State’s Tyler Lewis lost his grandmother last Friday, and a few of his teammates swore they heard a chant of “How’s your grandma?” coming from a handful of Cameron Crazies.
Duke fans who were in attendance have said what they were actually cheering was “Past your bedtime.” And the members of the Wolfpack making the allegations admit that’s what most were saying. But they insist there were definitely some bad apples.
Take a look and listen for yourself:
I definitely hear “Past your bedtime!” But I also could have sworn I heard it switch to something else after the first free throw.
What do you think?
Of course, if the allegations are true, this would be one of the most classless things I’ve ever seen sports fans do. And I’ve seen them do a lot of classless things.
