Stat Line of the Night — 2/7/2013 — Pekka Rinne

pekka rinne

Pekka Rinne opened the season with losses in each of his first five starts (three by way of shootout).  During that stretch of futility, he allowed a total of 14 goals against, but the Predators’ keeper has turned things around in a big way ever since.

Rinne entered last night’s game against the Kings with three consecutive victories, allowing only one goal against in each of those contests.  And he continued his winning ways by stopping all 32 shots he faced from the Los Angeles shooters during the Preds’ 3-0 victory.

With the win, Rinne improves his record on the season to 4-2-3, while lowering his goals against average to 1.81.  The shutout was his first of the season, and it also earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, February 7, 2013.
