Austrian Soccer Hooligans Brawl in Dublin Streets the Night Before the Austria-Ireland World Cup Qualifier (Video)
Well, it turns out that the Montenegrins weren’t the only European soccer fans fighting amongst themselves prior to yesterday’s slate of World Cup qualifiers that took place around the globe. In Ireland on Monday, the night before the home team took on the visitors from Austria, a pack of Austrian soccer fans got a little bored and/or drunk and decided to mix it up on the streets of Dublin.
Of course, it wasn’t just any old part of Dublin. These idiots brawled in the historic Temple Bar district, with its narrow medieval streets and quaint architecture. You know, the place where all the tourists go.
According to the YouTube uploader, the skirmish was between coalitions of fans of several Austrian soccer clubs. On one side were supporters of LASK Linz and SC Bregenz. On the other were supporters of Salzburg and SV Reid. We have no idea who’s who, but there is a lot of yelling in German, so that’s fun.
Have a look:
I’m guessing all these people made up the next day while celebrating a very exciting goal., as their team scored two minutes into extra time to tie Ireland 2-2 and scratch out a point.
