University of Detroit’s Doug Anderson Annihilates the Competition at the College Basketball Slam Dunk Contest (Video)
It’s not easy to entertain college basketball fans during the week leading up to the Final Four. We’re all coming off of four straight days of nonstop college basketball action, and with the end of March Madness in sight, the NCAA makes us wait five whole days before they play the National Semifinal Games.
I don’t know about you, but I loathe this little waiting period every year. Or at least, I used to. This year I had Detroit Mercy small forward Doug Anderson to relieve the pain of my college hoops withdrawal.
Yesterday, Anderson blew everyone away at the 2013 State Farm College Basketball Slam Dunk Contest in Atlanta. The 6’6″ small forward, a senior from Kalamazoo, Michigan, who averaged 12.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the Horizon League this year, threw down four insane dunks that earned four perfect scores. And the last of these was a 360º between-the-legs backhanded dunk. No, not reverse. Backhanded.
It was amazing. See for yourself:
Forget college basketball. This guy might just be the best at any level. I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing him go head-to-head against this year’s NBA Dunk Contest winner, Terrance Ross, or future NBA Dunk Contest winner, Andrew Wiggins.
