Pirates Declare War on Fans’ Arteries, Introduce Donut Burger at PNC Park (Video)
Though I’ve long suspected it, given the quality of the teams they’ve been running out onto the field for the last 20 years, I now have definitive proof: the Pittsburgh Pirates are trying to kill their fans.
Their latest method? Heart disease. It’s diabolical, really.
You see, the Pirates have introduced a new item to the list of concession delights at PNC Park for the 2013 season. It’s a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and a donut for a bun.
Obviously they didn’t invent the donut burger. According to celebrity chef Paula Deen, she did. But that didn’t stop chef Richard Martini (seriously, his name is Ricky Martini) from acting like he just kind of pulled the idea for the “Brunch Burger” out of the creative ether all on his own.
Here’s a video of the PNC Park chef talking about the burger and its reception from the Pirates faithful:
Looks delicious, doesn’t it?
Now, what was that you were saying a minute ago? Something about an obesity epidemic?
