Female Rugby Fan Gets Knocked Out Trying to Break Up a Brawl (Videos)
I’ve covered fan fights a lot over the last few years, and I’ve seen just about every kind of fight you can imagine. You know what I’ve learned? Well, not much, actually. But I can think of at least one thing: don’t try to break up these fights. I mean, have you seen what these people fight over? It’s almost always nothing. So you really don’t want to get between these drunken idiots.
Unfortunately, one woman recently learned that lesson the hard way. At an Easter weekend Super Rugby match between the Crusaders of Christchurch, New Zealand, and the Stormers of Newland, South Africa, this woman got between two groups of hostile men and tried to prevent a fight by reasoning with them. It didn’t work. A brawl broke out anyway, and when she put herself in between a couple of them thinking that they wouldn’t hit a women, a dude punched her in the face and knocked her out cold.
Here are two videos of the nasty scene. In the first, you see the woman clearly at the 0:04 mark. Then you see her get knocked out at the 0:32 mark. Take a look:
In the second video, you see a shot of the mele from above, plus a picture of the poor woman as she’s being carried off on a stretcher:
We’ve seen some rugby fans get violent before, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this. Hopefully this woman will be okay, and hopefully the next time something like this happens, she’ll just get out of the way and let the morons beat each others’ brains out.
