Stat Line of the Night — 4/8/2013 — Peyton Siva

Playing in his final game as a Louisville Cardinal, senior guard Peyton Siva wanted to make the most of it by capitalizing on the opportunity to claim his first NCAA Tournament Championship.  And his play at both ends of the court would ensure that he and the Cards do just that.

Siva wasn’t his team’s highest scorer on this occasion—Luke Hancock managed to score 22 points off the bench—but the 6’0″ point guard was getting it done in all facets of the game, as he recorded 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals during the Cardinals’ 82-76 victory over the Michigan Wolverines.

The win gives Louisville their third NCAA Tournament title, and their first since they defeated Duke to claim the 1986 championship.  As for Siva, his point and rebound totals in the finals were well above his season averages, as he stepped his game up when it meant the most.  That earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, April 8, 2013.
