NFL Hopeful Denard Robinson Throws One of the Worst Ceremonial First Pitches Ever (Video)
If Denard Robinson gets selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, it almost certainly will not be as a quarterback. Oh sure, he played quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines and led the team to the Gator Bowl in 2011, the Sugar Bowl in 2012, and the Outback Bowl in 2013, while passing for 6,250 total yards. However, the guy also rushed for 4,495 yards, and he’s only 5’11”.
Oh, and there may be some questions about his arm after he threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Tigers game yesterday…and one-hopped it to the plate.
No joke. A guy who wants to make a living throwing a football 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards couldn’t throw a baseball 60 feet.
Take a look:
Could this be the first time in the history of the NFL that a guy’s draft stock went down because of the way he throws a baseball? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
In all seriousness, though, you have to respect the way Robinson handled the situation. He didn’t make any excuses for his poor throw.
“It was terrible,” Robinson admitted. “I babied it. I should’ve just threw the ball. I can’t take it back. I don’t have excuses.”
Start preparing for your new job as a wide receiver, buddy.
