David Ortiz to Boston Red Sox Fans: “This Is Our F*cking City”
It was an emotional day at Fenway Park on Saturday, as the Boston Red Sox played their first home game since the tragic events at Monday’s Boston Marathon. Most of those in attendance put their emotions on display in a safe-for-work manner, whether it be through the use of signs, by chanting “U-S-A,” or by singing along with Neil Diamond during his performance of “Sweet Caroline” in the middle of the eighth inning.
As for David Ortiz, he showed his emotions for the city of Boston in a not-so-safe-for-work sort of way during his pre-game address to the Fenway Faithful.
Have a listen for yourself:
In case you missed it, what Ortiz was trying to tell the people of Boston at the 0:39 mark of the video above was, “This is our f*cking city, and nobody is going to dictate our freedom.”
Well said David. America, F*ck Yeah!
