Patrice Evra Celebrates Man U’s Premier League Title By Biting an Arm, à la Luis Suarez (GIF)
On Monday, Manchester United secured their 20th Premier League title via a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa—coupled with Manchester City’s 3-1 loss to Tottenham one day earlier. That was reason enough to celebrate on the field at Old Trafford, and winning the award for oddest choice of celebration was Patrice Evra, who decided to take a bite out of a fake arm, much like Liverpool’s Luis Suarez did to the real arm of Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic on Sunday.
For those who don’t remember, Suarez was banned eight matches for racially abusing Evra back in October 2011. And the Uruguayan even refused to shake the Frenchman’s hand when the two met again on the pitch four months later. So we’ll simply assume that Evra had his good ol’ buddy Luis in mind when he pretended to gnaw on that arm. Well played Patrice.
And in case you were wondering where Evra got the fake arm from, it was thrown onto the field by a fan. (We won’t attempt to explain what the fan was doing with it in the first place.)
