Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Has Emergency Hernia Surgery, Tweets Awesome Photo from Hospital Bed (Pic)
The outcomes of WWE wrestling matches may be predetermined, but the athletic skill required to make the matches entertaining is very real—and so are the injuries.
During his WrestleMania 29 title match against John Cena on April 7, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson suffered a pretty serious injury that no one really noticed at the time. However, the next day Johnson tweeted, “In the middle of last night’s Wrestlemania match I tore my abdomen & abductor muscles off the bone.” Then, on Sunday, he tweeted, “Saw my Dr who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic. Surgery is next week.”
However, surgery wasn’t next week. It was the next day. Apparently his condition got so bad that on Monday, April 22, the Rock underwent what his agent called “emergency” hernia surgery.
Of course, nothing can keep the Rock down for long. On Tuesday he took to Twitter to reassure his fans that he’s fine and on the mend, issuing this photo:
