Stat Line of the Night — 4/23/2013 — Stephen Curry
After watching David Lee go down with a hip flexor injury in Game One (an injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the post-season), the Golden State Warriors needed their entire team to step up in his absence if they hoped to take Game Two in Denver and even their series with the Nuggets in the process. And they would do just that, with none other than Stephen Curry leading the way, much like he has done throughout the course of the season for the Warriors.
Coming off his best regular season during his four-year career, Curry carried that solid play into Game Two of the Warriors’ first-round playoff series, as he recorded game-highs in points and assists, with 30 and 13, respectively. He would also add five rebounds and three steals, helping his team even the series via a 131-117 victory over the Nuggets.
With the win, the Warriors erase the Nuggets’ home-court advantage, and despite David Lee’s absence, they suddenly appear to have a real chance at pulling off the upset. But they’ll need more performances like this one from Curry, who earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
