Maple Leafs’ Mark Fraser Take a Wicked Puck to the Face (Video)
We all know NHL players are tough, but during the Stanley Cup Playoffs they’re just ridiculous. They can lose a tooth, break a foot, or take a gash to the forehead, and chances are they’ll just miss a few shifts and get back onto the ice.
So why do I bring this up? Well, I bring it up because you know the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Mark Fraser must have been seriously injured by that snapshot he took to the face, because he definitely did not return to the game after that.
In the third period of the Leafs’ opening round series against the Boson Bruins, with the score tied 3-3, a shot off the stick of Milan Lucic flew up and his Fraser square in the face. They haven’t said for sure what the extent of his injuries might be, but they took him to the hospital for a CT scan and, obviously, you have to think the guy might have a few facial fractures.
Take a look:
Looks painful, doesn’t it? And unfortunately, Fraser can’t even say he saved the day for his team. Oh sure, it kind of preserved a 3-3 tie, but his team would go on to lose in overtime and go down 3-1 to the Bruins.
