This Rugby Hit by Lolo Lui Is as Hard as They Come (Video)
I don’t know much about rugby. I know you score by running the ball into an end zone or kicking it through uprights. I know there are no forward passes, just like American gridiron football circa 1910. I know that rugby players are tough as nails. And I know there is something called rugby league, something called rugby union, and something called rugby sevens, but I have no idea what the difference is other than the number of players on the field.
Despite my general ignorance, however, I love it when I get to write posts about rugby, because I know that, whatever happens, it’s going to be good.
This is certainly true of today’s rugby post, the subject of which is a devastating hit from an IRB Rugby Sevens World Series game between Samoa and Australia on May 5 in Glasgow. A Samoan player named Lolo Lui absolutely destroys Australia’s James Stannard, leaving the guy so out of breath that he actually has to leave the game.
Take a look:
Not bad, right? And how about that name—Lolo Lui? Is that not great?
I don’t know about you, but hits like this make me wish I had more time to follow rugby.
