Stat Line of the Night — 6/16/2013 — Manu Ginobili

Manu Ginobili struggled mightily during the 2012-13 NBA season, as his 23.2 minutes per game and 11.8 points per game were both the lowest totals of his career since his rookie season.  And while a decline in performance should be expected from the Spurs’ guard at 35 years of age, on Sunday Ginobili proved that he may still have a bit of gas left in his tank after all.

With the Spurs in need of a victory in order to take a 3-2 series lead to Miami for the final two games of the NBA Finals, Ginobili was inserted into the starting line-up for the first time all season, and he responded with 24 points, 10 assists, two rebounds and one steal during the Spurs’ 114-104 victory.

Ginobili’s 24 points were his highest scoring output of the entire season (regular season and playoffs included).  He saved his breakout performance for the perfect moment, as the Spurs are now just one win away from their fifth NBA Championship.  So it only makes sense that Manu earns, “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, June 16, 2013.
