Azerbaijani Wrestler Gives Us One of the Best Celebration Dances of All-Time (Video)
If there’s one thing I know about Azerbaijanis, it’s that they know how to party.
The reason I know that? The video you’re about to see. It’s from the 27th Summer Universiade (which is basically like an Olympics just for college athletes) earlier this week in Kazan, Russia. The finals of the 66 kg weight class in wrestling pitted Russia’s Islambek Albiev against Azerbaijan’s Rasul Chunayev, and after the latter defeated the former, he performed what just might be the greatest celebration dance in the history of sports.
I’m not even joking. Possibly the best ever. It’s that amazing.
Take a look:
I don’t know about you, but when I think about how there was a time in my life when I hadn’t seen this video, it just makes me sad. The world seems like a much better place now that I know Rasul Chunayev is out there performing Azerbaijani jigs after every big wrestling win.
