Samuel Deduno Was a Man Possessed on the Mound Last Night (Video)
Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Samuel Deduno may be looking for a way to give his curveball some additional bite, and it appears as though he found it during last night’s victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
With one out, a runner on third and the Twinkies leading 4-2, Deduno was one strike away from retiring B.J. Shuck for the second out of the inning. He knew that it was one of the most important pitches he’d throw all evening, and he was able to get Shuck to bite on a curveball, figuratively, by digging down deep and taking a bite out of his necklace, literally.
It may have been the first strikeout ever recorded while a pitcher was chewing on his necklace, and the insanity from Deduno didn’t end there, as he broke out the funny faces for the next batter he faced, Mike Trout.

Creepy stuff from Deduno, but I guess it worked.
