Chris Johnson and Devin Hester Will Race a Cheetah for Nat Geo’s ‘Big Cat Week’
Did you know that the National Geographic Chanel has something called “Big Cat Week”? Well they do. It’s obviously an attempt to build on the success of the Discovery Chanel’s “Shark Week,” but this November they’ll do something the Discovery Chanel has never done when they pit man against Cheetah in a one-hour special called, appropriately enough, Man vs. Cheetah.
So who gets to compete against the cheetah? None other than Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans and Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears. The show is intended to demonstrate the comparative evolutionary strengths and weaknesses of cheetahs and humans. Johnson, the NFL’s fastest player who ran the 40 in a combine-record 4.24 seconds, will test the beast’s raw speed; while Hester, who holds the NFL record for most kicks and punts returned for touchdowns, will test the beast’s agility and maneuverability.
Basically, it’s going to be pretty awesome, so check your local listings and get your DVD all set up.
Oh, and while you’re at it, you might also want to record another amazing “Big Cat Week” program—Betty White Goes Wild.
No joke. That’s a real thing.
