Tough Mudder Competitor Gets Clotheslined and Strangled by Electrified Wires! (Video)
Marathons, 10Ks and even shorter distance runs/walks raise a lot of money for charity, which is wonderful. Unfortunately, there is one big problem with such events: they are pretty boring, relatively speaking.
Now, some might argue by saying, “when you complete a marathon, you participate in a collective triumph of the human will!” And to that I say, exactly! Simply to complete a marathon is a triumph of the human will because you have to overcome the fact that it so utterly numbs the mind and body. And that’s great. I’m not saying we should get rid of marathons. However, I am saying we should also try something new, something fun and exciting and stimulating.
That’s where “Tough Mudder” events come in. They are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses supposedly designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. They call themselves, “the premier adventure challenge series in the world,” and to date they’ve raised over $5 million for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Sounds interesting, right? Well, events are held all over the world, and at the Tough Mudder event in Buffalo, recently, one guy demonstrated just how extremely tough these mudders actually are when he was clothesline-strangulocuted.
What does it mean to get “clothesline-strangulocuted,” you ask? Well, you’ll see:
Now come on, doesn’t that look like so much more fun that a 10K?
Well, okay, maybe just for the spectators. Check out the Tough Mudder website to find an event near you.
