Here’s One of the Weirdest MMA Knockouts You’ll Ever See (GIF)
Typically, the noteworthy MMA knockouts we show you here fall into one of three categories. There are those knockouts that are amusing because somebody was showboating—like the Anderson Silva knockout or, if you want a more extreme example, this one. Then there are those knockouts that are amusing because they took just a few seconds—like this one…or this one…or even this one. And then, finally, there are those knockouts that are amusing because of the amazing blows that caused them—like this kick to the head, or this spinning back heel, or this flying knee to the face.
However, today we have a great knockout that doesn’t fit into any of these categories. The victim wasn’t showboating, the blow was really pretty unexciting, and it didn’t come just four seconds into the bout.
So what makes it so amusing? The manner in which the guy goes to the mat—it’s just like a cartoon.
Take a look:
That is Derrick Mehmen knocking out Rolles Gracie in round 2 of their fight during World Series of Fighting 5. Gracie looks like a Looney Toons character or something, walking away comically while birds fly around his head before collapsing to the mat.
Sorry to laugh at your pain, Rolles, but that was pretty hilarious.
