After Getting His Revenge on the Eagles, Andy Reid Got a Gatorade Shower from the Chiefs (GIF)
Andy Reid coached the Eagles for 14 seasons, compiling a .586 winning percentage and making the playoffs nine times. However, he made big moves to acquire star players prior to 2011, and for two straight years the Eagles flopped. So he got canned.
Obviously, Reid found work right away with the Kansas City Chiefs, and it looks like he’s on his way to a very impressive, possibly worst-to-first turnaround. However, when you’re in one place for that long, you don’t just leave without bringing some baggage with you.
Well, last night Reid’s Chiefs were in Philadelphia to take on the Eagles, marking his first return to Lincoln Financial Field. The fans? They gave him a standing ovation prior to the game. And when the clock wound down on the Chiefs’ 26-16 victory, giving Reid a sweet taste of revenge, his players gave him the requisite Gatorade shower:
Of course, that may not seem like a big deal, but in fact it’s quite telling. That game obviously meant a lot to Reid, and his players understood that—which is something that bodes well for the Kansas City Chiefs as the season goes on.
You can bet an ice-cold bucket of Gatorade never felt so good.
